SPECIAL COMMISSION MEETING

TUESDAY, March 25, 2008

                                    FOR BILLABLES AND PAYABLES 

Robert L. Bailey, President, called the Special Meeting of the Cabell County Commission to order at 10:00 a.m.

Jim Schiedler, Chief Sheriff’s Deputy, appeared to address an issue with the Commission regarding the budget.  Mr. Schiedler stated that eight positions for sergeant would need to be funded in the 2008-2009 budget instead of the seven positions that were funded.

The Commission agreed to address this matter at a later date.

                        RE:  APPOINTMENT OF ELECTION OFFICIALS AND

                                 EMERGENCY BALLOT COMMISSIONERS

Nancy Cartmill, Commissioner, moved to approve the appointment of Election Officials and Emergency Ballot Commissioners for the 2008 Primary Election.  W. Scott Bias, Commissioner, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

#077                            APPROVAL OF THE FY 2008-2009 CABELL COUNTY

                                    GENERAL FUND AND COAL SEVERANCE FUND LEVY

                                    ESTIMATE (BUDGET)

Stephen Zoeller, County Manager, stated he had made the changes the Commission requested. 

Robert L. Bailey, President, stated he wanted the pay letters from the Elected Officials checked every two weeks.

W. Scott Bias, Commissioner, moved to put the budgets back to the current level.  Nancy Cartmill, Commissioner, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

W. Scott Bias, Commissioner, moved to approve the budget as amended for the General Fund and Coal Severance.  Nancy Cartmill, Commissioner, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
