SPECIAL COMMISSION MEETING

FRIDAY, AUGUST 12, 2005

 

PRESENT:                             ROBERT L. BAILEY, PRESIDENT

                                                NANCY CARTMILL, COMMISSIONER

                                                W. SCOTT BIAS, COMISSIONER

                                                CHRIS TATUM, INTERIM COUNTY MANAGER

                                                SHARON ROSS, ASSISTANT COUNTY MANAGER

                                                FOR BILLABLES AND PAYABLES

 

Robert L. Bailey, President, called the Special Meeting of the Cabell County Commission to order at 10:00 a.m.

 

W. Scott Bias, Commissioner, moved to go into Executive Session to interview applicants for the position of County Manager.  Nancy Cartmill, Commissioner, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

 

The Commission went into Executive Session at 10:05 a.m.

 

Robert L. Bailey, President, reconvened the Commission meeting at 11:05, with no action taken.

 

Nancy Cartmill, Commissioner, moved to recess the meeting until Monday, August 15, 2005, at 10:00 a.m.  W. Scott Bias, Commissioner, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. 

 

The Commission recessed at 11:06 a.m.

Robert L. Bailey, President, reconvened the meeting of Friday, August 12, 2005, at 10:04 a.m.

 

Robert L. Bailey, President, moved to go into Executive Session to interview applicants for the position of County Manager.  Nancy Cartmill, Commissioner, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

The Commission went into Executive Session at 10:05 a.m.

 

Robert L. Bailey, President, reconvened the meeting at 10:50 a.m., with no action taken.

 

Nancy Cartmill, Commissioner, moved to recess the meeting until Monday, August 22, 2005, at 10:00 a.m.  Robert L. Bailey, President, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

 

The Commission recessed at 10:51 a.m.

Robert L. Bailey, President reconvened the meeting of Monday, August 15, 2005. 

 

W. Scott Bias, Commissioner, moved to go into Executive Session to discuss the selection of a County Manager.  Nancy Cartmill, Commissioner, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

 

The Commission went into Executive Session at 10:01 a.m.

 

Robert L. Bailey, President, reconvened the meeting at 11:04 a.m., with no action taken.

 

Robert L. Bailey, President, stated that the Commission discussed background checks and references on the three (3) final candidates for the position of County Manager and a decision would be made at the regular Commission meeting on Thursday, August 25, 2005.

 

W. Scott Bias, Commissioner, moved to adjourn the meeting.  Nancy Cartmill, Commissioner, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

 

The Commission meeting was adjourned at 11:05 a.m.
