SPECIAL COMMISSION MEETING

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23, 2005

Robert L. Bailey, President, called the Special Meeting to order at 10:00 p.m.

President Bailey informed the Commission that Judge Pancake ruled on the suit filed by the officeholders and there would be no budget cuts in the 2004-2005 budgets.

Glenn White, County Manager, stated he had reviewed all of the officeholders budgets and there were a number of items, especially in the Sheriff’s Department and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, that had increases. Mr. White further stated he assumed that the Commission wanted the 2005-2006 budget amounts to be about the same as the 2004-2005 budget, with some adjustments.

Mr. White said he would like to make copies of the revised proposed budgets for the officeholders to review so that at the next meeting they could discuss their budgets.

Mr. White explained the proposed 2005-2006 General Budget in all the departments that were under the Commission. Mr. White stated that it was pretty much the same as the 2004-2005 budget with some adjustments such as workers’ comp and longevity.

Mr. White reviewed the Coal Severance Budget with the Commission.

President Bailey and Mr. White briefly discussed the medical insurance and if it would be possible to discontinue the employee’s share.

There being no further discussion, Robert L. Bailey, President, recessed the meeting at 2:02 p.m., until Friday, March 25, 2005 at 1:00 p.m.
