COUNTY COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2004

 

PRESENT:                             NANCY CARTMILL, PRESIDENT

ABSENT:                               L. D. EGNOR, COMMISSIONER

 

Nancy Cartmill, President, called the Special Meeting of the County Commission to order at 11:00 a.m.

 

RE:                             APPROVAL OF A HAND WRITTEN CHECK IN THE

                                    AMOUNT OF $25,000.00 TO RESERVE ACCOUNT FOR

                                    POSTAGE, LINE ITEM 01-401-18

 

Robert L. Bailey, Commissioner, moved to approve a hand written check in the amount of $25,000.00 for postage.  Nancy Cartmill, President, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

 

RE:                             POSSIBLE LITIGATION REGARDING TAX

                                    INCREMENT FINANCING

 

Nancy Cartmill, President, moved to go into executive session to discuss possible litigation with counsel.  Robert L. Bailey, Commissioner, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. 

 

The Commission recessed the meeting at 11:04 a.m.

 

The Commission reconvened the regular meeting at 11:26 a.m., with no action taken.

 

Robert L. Bailey, Commissioner, stated that at the last meeting he brought up an item suggesting a meeting with the City of Huntington about the TIF District with the county sharing in the proceeds.  Commissioner Bailey went on to say he was unhappy with the editorial in the newspaper as it did not state what he had suggested.

 

Robert L. Bailey, Commissioner, moved to set a meeting with the mayor of Huntington and the city council to discuss the TIF District. Nancy Cartmill, President, seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. 

 

Nancy Cartmill, President, adjourned the special meeting of the County Commission at 11:30 a.m.
