At a regular session of the County Commission of Cabell County, West Virginia, held at the
Courthouse thereof, on the 27th day of March, 2003, the following Order was made and entered:
IN THE MATTER OF A RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF
THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
The following resolution was offered by:
Robert L. Bailey , President
It is difficult in these unsettled times to think of anything we can say or do to adequately
recognize and honor the men and women of our armed services. Yet the debt we owe them and
their families for this sacrifice beyond description is no less due because we have not the power
or means to bestow a full measure of appreciation. Though we feel powerless and unworthy in
the face of their bravery and sacrifice, we are compelled to, in our small way, acknowledge our
indebtedness to them.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabell County Commission, on behalf of the citizens of
our beloved County, does aver and assure their love and affection for their sons and daughters
and mothers and fathers who serve in our Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.
They are the descendents of those who first served at the birth of our nation and in all the
subsequent times when our nation has been required to defend our liberty and the freedoms of others
being oppressed.
We hold them in the highest possible regard and will do all within our meager power to
support them and their families until they return to one nation, under God, our County and their
homes.
The adoption of the foregoing Resolution having been moved by:
L.D. Egnor , Commissioner , and duly seconded by:
Nancy Cartmill , Commissioner , the vote thereon was as
follows:
Bob Bailey, President aye
Nancy Cartmill, Commissioner aye
L. D. Egnor, Commissioner aye
Whereupon, Bob Bailey, President, declared said Resolution duly adopted and it is,
therefore, ADJUDGED and ORDERED that said Resolution be and the same is hereby adopted.
